Q. What file formats do you support?
A.Optimal formats are vector format files produced in Adobe software (.ai, .eps, hi-res pdf). We work on computers with Windows (PC) Operating Systems. If files are produced on MAC systems please make sure fonts have been outlined (converted to curves). If you have additional questions pertaining to file formats or graphic resolution, please contact our design team at edmontongraphics@speedprosign.com.

Q.What are your payment terms?
A. All orders are Balance Due on Delivery unless prior credit arrangements have been made, with a 50% deposit required upon approval of estimate to facilitate graphic design work and material ordering. Company accounts may be established with an approved credit application. Credit terms are 15 / 30 days net. Accounts exceeding 45 days will be placed on a COD basis. We also accept debit cards, VISA and Mastercard

Q. What is a typical turn-around time for sign or printing production?
A. Turnaround time on most jobs using standard materials, unless specified, is 48 to 72 hours. All work will be ready for pick up by the "end-of-day" on the due date unless earlier arrangements have been made. Work requested in less than 48 hours is subject to "RUSH" charge. Turnaround times are based on "reasonable" quantities and production schedules. Larger jobs may take longer but the job will be done when we say it will be done. All orders are subject to a "first come - first serve" basis unless other arrangements are made.

Q. What about client provided files?
A. We make every effort to check potential problems, but cannot be held responsible for files we do not create. This includes, but is not limited to, content, resolution of raster data or image quality of client files, spelling, or grammar. Fonts, scans and any other reference files must be included on disk along with the actual file to be imaged.

Q. How do I send large files to you for producing signs or printing?
A. Our Speedpro FTP site is available for you to upload large files via this link. If you encounter problems with our ftp site, we invite you to use this site to send us your files. If using this secondary option, please advise us by phone or email when you have uploaded your file. Uploaded files will be automatically deleted once they have been downloaded for production. For smaller size files (less than 5MB), please email them to: edmontongraphics@speedprosign.com

Q.How do I actually place my order?
A. On your first contact with our staff, we will ask you about the purpose of your sign, where it will be used, how far away you need it to be visible from, how long you want it to last, what artwork you want on it, and how it will need to be installed. We make sure to share our expertise so you get signs and graphics that really work for you. From there, we’ll give you a quote, often right away, on the most cost effective way to accomplish your goals. Once you place your order, we will design your sign and you will receive a proof (via email, fax or in person) showing how your sign will look and all the specifications listed for you to double check, approve and return to us. Once we have your approval, we produce your sign, install or have it ready for pick up by the date and time it was promised.

Q. Do you provide proofs before commencing production?
A. It is our policy that customers will "sign off" a proof sheet prior to production. We make every effort to include all relevant details pertaining to the sign in the proof sheet. Clients are advised to submit "sample print proofs" along with their file. We assume no responsibility for output discrepancies in files submitted without proofs. Because of variations in monitors, inks, film, imaging equipment and processing, "color critical" files require a test print. We are only able to accurately match "process colours" as referenced in the Pantone colour chart. If your artwork uses a specific pantone color, please specify the coated pantone number.

Q. What about copyrights and trademarks?
A. It is given that reproduction, in any form, of copyrighted materials without prior permission of the originator, is illegal. It is the responsibility of the client to obtain such permission.

Q. Will applying signage like vinyl directly to my paint hurt the paint on my car?
A. If you have a good paint job – meaning factory quality or similar – your paint will not suffer directly from the application. Things to remember, though, are that the paint NOT under the vinyl will be exposed to sunlight etc. and can fade. Meanwhile the paint under the vinyl is protected and likely will not fade. This can occur at different rates, but usually over a great number of years.
NOTE: If your vehicle has had recent bodywork or poor quality paint, it is possible for paint to peel off during the graphic removal process. Speedpro Signs assumes no liability for damages incurred as a result of poor, uncured or defective paint.

Q. Are signs expensive?
A. Signs are the least expensive method of advertising your business or product. Many surveys and studies show that, per person viewing, this is very inexpensive. Your decision on what you need on the sign, along with the substrate used for your sign, will determine the cost. Remember, “signs do not cost money – they make money”.

Q. How long does a sign last?
A. Ultimately, the durability of your signage is dependent upon the quality of the materials you choose (substrate, vinyl, laminate, etc.), as dictated by your budget and/or project requirements. Other important factors to consider are the sign's location (e.g. exposure to elements) and your maintenance procedures. One of the many questions asked at the time you order your sign is where it will be used? The answer can help our staff decide which product is best for your project requirements.

Q. When I come in to order my sign, what information will you need to know?
A. Although this list is not all-inclusive, we will certainly need to know the size of the sign, where it will be displayed, if there is a logo to be done, if colour matching of the lettering is required, or special fonts. If colour matching is important, we ask that you bring in a sample of the colour.

Q. Is there an artwork/setup charge?
A. The first time we do your order, there is an artwork setup charge. This can vary according to the complexity of the artwork, and in which format you provide the artwork to us. The answer to this question is “maybe”. Most charges are included in the price of the end product. This can vary, however, on the complexity of the job. BUT, you will know as part of our quote to you – before we start the job.

Q. If I have a company logo already, in what electronic format do you need it? Can I bring it in on a disk?
A. If your artwork/logo is suitable for our use in making your required sign, the formats that we prefer are Adobe Illustrator (.ai), Photoshop (.eps), Corel Draw Version 11 (.cdr) or some other formats of “vector” files. You can bring it in on a disk, and in most cases it can be emailed to us. It may be a ZIP file, if necessary.

Q. Are there extra charges if I can’t give you a logo or special artwork in the right format?
A. When time is required to redo the artwork or make it into a useable format, there is a charge. This is only charged for your first time.

Q. Can I just bring you a logo on a business card or company letterhead?
A. Our staff has been able to reproduce many logos from this type of product. However, it is not the most suitable and often takes time to prepare for use in the making of your sign. In these cases, an additional design charge will apply.

Q. Do you keep my artwork and sign setup on file?
A. Yes we do. We hope that you will continue to be our valued customer. Keeping your setup on file allows us to complete your next job more quickly, efficiently and less expensively that if it was an entirely new job.

Q. Why do you not publish a list of prices?
A. There are so many variables involved in sign making that is just not practical to have a list. However, you will be provided with the final cost prior to our beginning your job. There are no “hidden charges” or surprises.

Q. Do you have discounts?
A. We do offer quantity discounts for signs with exactly the same design and information. An example is Construction Site signs. These signs are made in bulk and contain all the same information. These signs are then used at a variety of job sites. The discounts can vary according to the work being produced.
